New artwork in honor of the funny Geico commercial...

Happy Sunday!

Per usual all the inhabitants of the Green household are in a snit.  Oh Sunday, how I do not like you.

To cheer myself up recently between school and work I have been watching the Geico commercial on youtube.  The one with the camel who is walking around asking everyone what day it is (Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike).

For some reason watching this commercial makes me laugh out loud and then I watch it again, and again, and the more I watch it the more I laugh.

I had to honor something that made me so happy.  I am going to turn it into a card but right now this is the original watercolor painting.
I don't think it just has to just be about Wednesday either!

Lots of Love,

Jess

California and Wanderlust...

Happy Sunday!  If anyone knows why Saturday and Sunday go by so much faster than the other days of the week I would like to know why.  It feels like some sort of phenomenon that requires a name.

Today all I wanted to do was lie in bed with the covers pulled over my head.  Sometimes the world feels like too much.  Instead I vacuumed the house, watched an episode of The Foster's with Meridyth (good t.v. show), and worked on a water color.

Tonight I also have a bit of Wanderlust.  I recently returned from a wonderful vacation in California and I keep wishing I could go back.

This is where I wish I was tonight...

I wish I was on a plane somewhere...(picture taken by me with my iphone 4)

lots of love,

Jess

Lovely Sunday Photograph (Quote) and a Happy New Year

To all of those who are celebrating the start of the Jewish New Year tonight I just wanted to say L'Shana Tova, I hope you all have a happy, healthy, and sweet New Year.

I didn't do a photograph today.  I thought an inspiring quote for the New Year would be more fitting.

Lots of Love,

Jess

Lovely Sunday Photograph

Hello, hello!

I hope everyone has had a great weekend.

Mine has been super busy and full and honestly I have overdone it a bit and I am paying for it now.  Just today we dropped of a bunch of stuff at goodwill, went for breakfast, attempted to go mattress shopping (utter fail) and went to target, bed bath and beyond, office depot, and staples.  I sat in the car for some of the shopping!

I then took a three hour nap and my dreams of more cleaning have dissipated.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend and is ready for the week!

Onto the photograph!  This image is by photographer Tim Flack who does amazing animal portraiture.  Click on his name to go to his website.  I can't get enough of his work!
Lots of Love,

Jess

Dreamy Sunday...

Hello, hello.  Happy Sunday!

I am feeling under the weather today and I have a lot of great posts coming up for the week!  For today I wanted to share some photos I took with my Diana camera.

I am just in that kind of mood today.

Lovely Sunday Photograph

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

Tomorrow I start school (two classes), so with work and school and trying to keep up an etsy shop we will see how life goes!  Posts might be appearing very late in the day!
Image source unknown.  Please let me know if anyone knows creator/owner.
Isn't this image lovely?  To wake up with hundreds of balloons around you!  I wonder if this was for a special occasion?!

Also, do you remember when I told you my amazing father wrote a book?  Original blog post can be found here.  It is entitled Forgotten Hostages and is a true first hand account of the first terrorist attack in Washington D.C. that happened on March 9, 1977.

It is now available on kindle for only $4.99!

I am actually reading the book myself right now and it is fantastic!

Until tomorrow,

Love,

Jess

Lovely Sunday Photograph

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope everyone had a productive, fun, and relaxing weekend.  Not sure if all of those things go together, but why not!

Here's the lovely photograph for today.  It is a wedding themed photo.  Not just because I LOVE weddings, but also because Meridyth and I spent the afternoon with our mama's planning ours.

The image taken by talented a very talented wedding photographer Kelly Prizel.  The lighting, the framing, I think the image is just beautiful.

Enjoy!

love,

Jess

Cute Illustrations, New Valentine's Day card, and Stumble Upon

It's Sunday, It's Sunday!  "That's my fun day!"
I thought I would break out a little 80's Manic Monday for you!

Well, it has been a great weekend so far!  Meridyth and I saw my parent's yesterday.  They live in Florida now a good part of the winter, but when they are home in Maryland they only live about a half hour from us.  So, we went out to dinner at a mexican restaurant and had a lovely time!  One of the specials was guacamole with crab and corn.  YUM!

I also slept wonderfully!  The kind of sleep where you wake up with your face smushed in the pillow, you are drooling, and must have also been snoring since your cat is about an inch away from you and looking at you when you open an eye!

Since I slept so well I have been browsing the world wide web this morning and found some awesome illustrations that I wanted to share!
This illustration is by Malaysian artist Chow Hon Lam.  The minute I saw it, it make me laugh.  I love the expression of the cow!  Check out more of his awesome work on his etsy shop!

Another illustration that caught my attention was Alex Noriega.
Her artwork is really whimsical and endearing but also deals with real life problems and thoughts.  Check out more on her blog here.

On a different topic, have you guys ever used Stumble Upon?  I had never heard of it, so either I am staying at home and watching way too much t.v. or it hasn't been around for a long time.  Regardless, it is my new obsession!  You sign up for the service, it's free, and drag their tool bar to the top of your internet browser.  It allows you to pick topics your are interested in and then all you do is click Stumble and it will bring up new websites you might like based on your interests!  So cool....and addicting!  Check it out here.

I also added a new Valentine's Day card to LoveUPaperly, and I was featured in a treasury yesterday featuring LOVE!

I like the contrast of the red and the yellow and the retro look of the linoleum stamp that I made.  What do you guys think?

Also, lots of links to click on, so check them out!

Until tomorrow, have a great end of the weekend!

love,

Jess

Lovely Sunday Photograph

I had the opportunity to take some pet portraits for a dear family friend. She has two very large and pretty awesome golden doodles. I totally want one but we need a bigger yard! Hope everyone's weekend has been great.
Till tomorrow! Love, Jess

Lovely Sunday Photographs

Every Sunday I am going to publish a pretty photo.  Sunday's are a bit of a conundrum in my world. You know in your head you still have all day until you have to go back to work tomorrow, so that is... lovely.  However, I usually get a case of the Sunday blues.  Sunday blues happen because I know I have to finish everything that I started so excitedly yesterday because I won't have the free time once Monday hits!

So, from this day onward, lovely sunday photographs will happen so that everyone can find  a little beauty in the day and maybe help it will help me beat the Sunday blues.

Below is a photo of the cupcakes I made from scratch for the first time!  The icing didn't work, but they tasted pretty good and sprinkles make everything look delectable.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Love,

Jess
